Group Programs

At Peach Psychology, groups are a fantastic way to engage in a safe space where there is connection, safety and learning.

See below for the current groups running in 2026.

DBT Groups

DBT stands for Dialectical Behavior Therapy, a structured form of psychotherapy designed to help people manage intense emotions and improve coping skills.

During the 12-week program, you will gain an understanding of emotions and also learn how to build practical skills to manage them and enhance relationships. There are currently 3 streams: Adolescent DBT (13-17yrs), Adult DBT and a NDIS specific stream. This is dependent on capacity.

  • The DBT group will run for 12 weeks and will contain between 4 to 8 people maximum. The groups will last 2 hours each session.

Note this is more of an educational group learnt with others.

  • You will learn the 4 core DBT skills:

Mindfulness – staying present and aware of thoughts and feelings.

Distress Tolerance – coping with crises without making them worse.

Emotion Regulation – understanding and managing intense emotions.

Interpersonal Effectiveness – improving relationships and communication.

  • The fee per session is $125 per group sessions. The total fee for the 12-week program is $1,500 (or $1,189 after 10 Medicare rebates*). This can be paid in 3 instalments or upfront.

Medicare rebates are payable for up to 10 individual and 10 group therapy mental health treatment services each calendar year.

This means that 10 of the 12 sessions for the DBT group program will be covered with a mental health care plan (Item 80128). The rebate for groups is $46.75 per session, and this rebate will not affect your individual psychology rebates should you wish to you them separately.

Cancellation policy applies for the full program fees apply to the full 12-week program and no refunds will be provided as the program works in a block model for consistency and cohesion for all participants.

For NDIS, Improved Daily Living funding may be able to be used for the DBT programs. Please check with your plan details, Support Coordinator or Plan Manager.

  • The NDIS specific stream comes in 2 formats:

    1. A 12-week modified program similar to the standard stream

    2. A 40-week in-depth stream that offers weekly sessions covering a fuller scope of the DBT method.

  • The next group is due to start in June 2026. Please reach out for enquiries to secure your place.
